The Castle Neuschwanstein

Castle Neuschwanstein is one of the three that were built for King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The building of this Castle started in 1869 and stopped on 13 June 1886, the day that King Ludwig II died. Six weeks later the Castle became a Museum and is still one to this day. The Castle is built on the side of a mountain in the German Alps. Each of the rooms are decorate with paintings which are scenes from Richard Wagner's operas. The entire fourth floor is a theater that Ludwig had built so Wagner's operas could be performed there. Concerts are still held here every September. In the 17 years that the castle was built the King only spent 172 days there. This was because this is where he did all of his entertaining as he didn't like anybody going to Linderhof. After seeing this Castle Walt Disney built a replica of it in Disneyland.
